a new dawn indeed
It has been a weekend full of excitement from the general elections and also from catching up with our friends in Singapore. Although we were there attending a friend's wedding, our minds were always in touch with things going on at home - both in the form of updates on Imran who was left behind at home and also the results of the elections that kept coming in, in doses of surprises and excitement.
Tonight as I sit down to catch up on my blog, I am sad that the holiday is finally over. Dino starts his (notoriously long hours) new job tomorrow and I am slightly nervous of adjusting to our new routine and lifestyle, especially when Imran and I have been so spoilt having him around these last few months. Although he was busy with his MBA the whole of last year, it has been rather flexible hours with us meeting him at campus throughout the day and having breaks every few months. In fact it is hard for me to even imagine not having him around as he has always been around since Imran was born!
But all good things come to an end. And we have been lucky to even have a taste of it. Now it is time to get back to reality. At the same time, with the purchase of our new house also being confirmed, it seems that not only is it a new dawn for Malaysia, but it seems to also be one for us.
Here's to a more democratic Malaysia (it's about time!) and to a hopefully not too harsh reality for the three of us!
